Exploring

Last week the lil Norts and I
got out and did some
exploring!

The Maine coastline is very
unlike
the California coastline
in that it's not a
straight shot
all the way up.

This map of the coast shows
hundreds of islands and peninsulas......

All of which needed
proper
exploration.

Last week we set out to do just that!

First stop.
Popham Beach

Believe it or not
we left our house on a sunny afternoon
and 15 minutes later
we arrived on a
foggy cloudy beach.

The temperature was pleasant enough
and didn't stop the lil Norts from doing their
"thing"!

Fox discovered
SAND!!!!

Not 100% sure
what to think.
It was still early.

He spotted
water.
Or was it the seagulls?

Starting his sand castle.

Chasing a one-legged seagull.
The only one stupid enough to keep coming back.

Shells!!!

Our good friend Cecibel
and her daughter
Kai.

They moved here in January.

Fox
belly flopped
himself right into the water.

Cecibel yanked him out.
I was laughing too hard to help.
Fox doesn't see the humor.

He had gotten a little too far off so Cesi went to
fetch him.
One thing about Fox,
if he sees someone coming
he runs in the
opposite direction.
Unfortunately that direction was about
5 feet from the water edge.
Plop!

Thankfully it was warm.

All dried off.
Outfit #2

Sand castles.

Logan's treasures.

Fox entertaining the ladies.

Cesi and Kai!

*************

Two days later we headed to our next stop.

Stop #2
Reid State Park

This time we came with
buckets,
shovels,
umbrella's
snacks,
and
Ryan.

Again, we left on a
super sunny Spring day,
and arrived to this.
Unfortunately this day was
slightly colder.
The kids hardly noticed.

Again with the digging.

This beach was a
gold mine
for
SHELLS!!

Fox
and his
lady friend,
Kai.

Cesi and the kids.
Running from the water.

Logi got buried.

Bubba got buried.

Ry-ry gets buried.

Still digging.

This is a little guy that
rarely strays
more than a five-foot radius from
his Momma.

The beach is a
different story.
He just wanders off,
plops himself down,
and
is so content to just
DIG!

I came over to chat,
and was completely ignored.
He was busy.

Brrrrrrrr.

Both beaches were amazing in their own way.
The drive
to and from the coast
was absolutely
gorgeous!

I fall more in love with our
new home
every time I get out and
explore
a little more of it.
