Storm NEMO

The winter storm of the season this year was named
Nemo!!

They were calling it the 

"perfect storm"!

Two areas of low pressure were set to collide over the 

north eastern United States.

They gave the Nor'easter a category 3 ranking.

Heavy snowfall and hurricane force winds.

Portland, Maine received 

31.9 inches 

We live only 25 minutes to the north.

This was going to be an

  'Ahh-venture'!

The next morning....

our neighbors across the street.

Our driveway didn't fair so bad....compared to others.

Based on the direction the wind was blowing, 

some neighbors found their cars completely covered.

Opened the front door.

Later that day.

It was absolutely gorgeous when the sun came out.

After two days stuck in the house,

the kids couldn't wait to get outside and

"play"!!

I shoveled some space for them to get off the 

back steps!!

Growing up in the western half of the United States,

this was very new to us.

The preparation put into getting ready for a storm like this makes you realize the brilliance in having food storage and emergency supplies on hand.

We didn't feel the need to 'scramble' like everyone else around us. 

There was no rushing, no fear, no anxiety.

We had lots of food, good movies and just hunkered down and waited for Nemo to pass!
