First Christmas in Maine

Finally, 

our first Christmas in Maine.

Last year was an entirely different experience, 

Christmas in Southern California surrounded by cousins, aunts and uncles.

This year I was so excited to spend Christmas together with our little family.

Our first one in

  Maine.

Every year we find new and fun traditions to add to our growing list of favorites.

This year was the first time we re-enacted the

  Nativity.

We had Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.

An angel and shepherd.

Next year we are proud to announce we will finally have a

  wise man.

They took it very seriously.

I loved it!

Our lil shepherd even had a

  baby sheep.

These guys don't miss many details.

Love them!!!!

Another tradition.

Christmas movie on  air mattresses.

They love it!

Snug as some bugs in a rug!!

Our beautiful Christmas Tree

or as it has been affectionately called the last couple years,

the

 "Christmas Column".

The tree is too tall to put the tip on.

It just goes and then abruptly stops about 5 inches from the ceiling!!

The kids were very good about not touching him.

They would talk to him and talk a lot about him.

The night before Christmas Eve they even got really sad about him leaving until the next year.

I loved this tradition.

Because my camera has been so 'weird' we took a lot more pictures on other devices.

And got lots of video.

I finally got a new camera and still need to figure out the settings.

 Meanwhile outside.....

A perfectly cozy winter storm was brewing.

It was gorgeous.

Chris managed to get these shots.

We were living inside a giant

snow globe.

The Christmas Day Feast.

A great tradition.

We pop in

  'Lord of the Rings', 

set out all kinds of yummy food to munch all day,

and just lounge around, 

enjoying each others company and celebrating a 

wonderful Christmas Day together as

 a family.
